8.1   ESTABLISHMENT OF WORK WEEK

        The establishment of the Mail Handler craft regular work week shall consist of five   (5) days with fixed days off.

8.2   WASH - UP TIME

         A.    Due to the dirty nature of Mail Handler work and contact with toxic material, a five (5) minute wash - up time shall be allowed before lunch period and end of tour.

         B.    Recognizing there will be circumstances where five (5) minutes may not be adequate for wash - up, additional time shall be granted by the supervisor, or group leader when the supervisor is not available, and where employees can demonstrate that additional time is needed (such as for ink removal, change of clothing necessitated by work activity, and for wash - up necessitated by  perspiration during hot summer months). This item is not intended to be in conflict with Article 3 of the National Agreement.

8.3     OVERTIME

          A.     Sign - up for Overtime Desired Lists shall be administered by section in accordance with 12.2A through 12.2E of this Memorandum of Understanding.

          B.     If the number of employees needed for overtime exceeds the number of employees on the Overtime Desired List in a section where overtime is needed the following pecking order will apply.

                   B1.     Daily Full - time Volunteers in the section where the overtime is needed (end - of - tour only).

                   B2.     Non - scheduled Full - time Volunteers in the section where overtime is  needed, if available.

                   B3.     Overtime Desired List Volunteers from other sections on that tour.

                   B4.      Daily Full - time Volunteers from other sections on that tour (end - of - tour only).

                   B5.      Non - scheduled Full - time Volunteers from other sections on that tour,  if available.

                    B6.     Qualified and available part - time flexibles and casuals.

                    B7.     Mandatory usage of Non - volunteer regular employees.

                               B7a.     The provisions of 8.3B3, B4, B5, B6, and B7 above shall be utilized provided those emplyees are in the same building.

          C.     When the need for overtime arises, Management will, to the extent possible, give employees one - half hour notification prior to the employees' scheduled end of tour.

          D.     Newly converted full - time employees may place their names on the "Overtime Desired" list within the two weeks (i.e., 14 calendar days) following the date upon which they are converted to full - time.  Said placement on the list shall be effective on the next calendar day.
